Vision Therapist / Manager

Jennifer Braniff received her Master of Counselling Degree from University of Western Sydney in 1998.  Her experience working as a Psychotherapist and Youth Counsellor combined with successful completion of the OEP curriculum, Sanet, COVT and PVTAP programs and 8 years of experience as a Vision Therapist has enabled a unique perspective of the role of emotions and in the vision rehabilitation process.  Jennifer also has extensive experience with management of Optometric practices and has consulted on the opening of Vision Therapy Centers across Canada.  In her role as Chairman of the COVT&R Therapists Committee she acts as a liaison between Vision Therapists and Behavioural Optometrists sharing ideas and helping to organize educational events in locations across the country.

Vonita has been working in the medical field since 2005. She joined our team in July 2009 as a receptionist and pre-tester. Vonita was very eager to learn about the field of optometry and the visual process and her passion for helping others made her a perfect fit as a vision therapist. She joined our team of vision therapists in January of 2011 and is currently in the process of earning her certificate as a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist (COVT) from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is furthering her knowledge by attending continuing education courses throughout Canada and the United States. Vonita’s favourite part of her day is working with children and helping them to achieve their vision-related goals.

Mirella graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has diploma in Modern Languages from Dawson College of Quebec.  She joined the team in January 2018 and has a passion for vision therapy. She is friendly and her calm caring demeanour allows her to support both children and adults as they journey towards their vision goals.  Mirella has successfully completed her PVTAP certification with COVT&R and looks forward to furthering her knowledge by attending courses and training.  In her free time Mirella enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, travelling, cooking, reading and watching movies.

Pia grew up in the Philippines and worked there in the field of optometry since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2008 and moved to Canada in 2015. She speaks both English and Tagalog fluently. Pia joined our team in 2015 as an optometric assistant, and quickly made the transition to our vision therapy team where she has been a great asset. Pia is always interested in furthering her knowledge in optometry and vision therapy; she has attended many seminars and workshops in order to enhance her knowledge and skills and is presently working on attaining her Canadian vision therapist certification. The best part of the day for Pia is interacting with her patients and supporting them in their vision therapy journey. She enjoys working with both children and adults. Pia enjoys spending her free time with her husband, traveling, trying new food, watching movies and talking to her family in the Philippines.

Natasha moved to Canada in 2010 from the UK, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics, and speaks French and German.

She joined our team in October 2017 as a vision therapist and has since successfully completed the PVTAP Vision Therapy program.

She first came to us as a Mom when her son started Vision therapy for amblyopia and an eye turn. Throughout his sessions, her interest in Neuro-optometry grew and she was eager to learn more. With her personal experience, linguistic training and keen interest in this field, along with her calm and warm personality, she was a perfect fit for our team. She is passionate about helping people and working one on one with patients. To be able to contribute to their rehabilitation and see them progress the way her son did, is Natasha’s favourite part of the job.

Lacey is the person in charge of the monthly newsletter for Halton Vision Therapy Centre and enjoys researching new topics that relate to vision therapy and eye health.
